I've been trying to get the card working for the last 3 days and have been bouncing from one forum to another. Surprised to hear that it was such a plug and play install for you, which makes me think i'm missing something. I've been reading that users are changing the bios, using Chameleon, UniBeast/MultiBeast, all of which i'm not familiar, nor comfortable tinkering with. I installed some ATI cards previously and they worked fine, not sure what i'm missing. I just keep getting a black screen upon start up.

This is my set up...

2010 Mac Pro
2 EVGA GeForce GTX 980 SC cards
Kanex Mini DisplayPort to DVI adapter
AX860 power supply
Running Yosemite Version 10.10.1
Installed the latest Nvidia driver (343.01.02f01)
Cuba Driver 6.5.33

Very interesting. A couple possibilities...

1. The driver you installed is conflicting with the MacOS native driver. You shouldn't have to install any drivers, period.
2. You will get black up until the log-in screen non-Mac edition Nvidia cards do not show the apple logo at start up.
3. Are your cards powering up correctly? With my PS, i had to jumper certain pins together in one of the cables coming off of it.

I have done this on three Mac's in the office. All on 2010 Power Macs. All no problems.

I'm actually wondering if it is a power supply issue and if i have it connected properly. I just used some of the cables that came with the power supply but i really don't know if they are the correct ones or if i have them plugged into the right place on the PS.

I also tried to hook up the card directly to my motherboard. It seems like it's getting power, it lights up anyways but the fans don't spin, but twitch rather. The fan of the power supply doesn't spin either. Which i assumed is happening because i'm not running any applications, but maybe it isn't hooked up properly? The card has 2 six pin connectors on it. I used whatever cables i had that connected to the 2 6 pin connectors, then hooked those up to the PS.

Can you tell me what cables you are using and how you went about jumping the cables and why that had to be done?

If your fans are not spinning, then nothing is being powered. Even on the Power supply. The fan should be spinning on the power supply at all times.

Use the cables that fit your cards. Do not hook directly to the motherboard. Not enough power there.

If your PS is anything like mine, you'll have a main cable coming out of it that doesn't really get hooked up to anything, I do not remember why i had to jumper these pins on that cable, just that i had to. And i do not know if the pins would be the same on yours. I'd ask the manufacturer of your PS about that.

Ok i think this is probably my issue. Not sure what cables i need either so i'll see if a local computer shop can help me out on that end. Are those the newest Titan cards you are using? How powerful is the PS that is powering them? Just wondering if the Titan cards make more sense for graphics and video work rather than the GeForce ones, they are quite a bit more expensive. I read that the Quadro http://www.nvidia.com/object/workstatio ... .htmlcards are the best for graphics. Is there a reason why you went with the Titans?

They are about 1.5 years old.

Reason for Titans? 2688 CUDA Cores each.

PS is a ThermalTake 1200 watt

Great. Might try to get these working and see if i still need more juice. Are the Titans black, Z or the standard versions? Haven't done much research on them so not really sure the difference.

These are just the normal standard Titans.

After lots of hair pulling and troubleshooting it seems like it was a combination of my PS not being connected properly along with the incorrect adapter. I used the HDMI port to test and it's working fine.

The issue i'm still having however is with the Kanex http://www.techmagnews.com/kanex-c247dl ... apter.html adapter. I've tried it on two of the same cards and i'm not getting a signal with it.

Can you let me know what adapter you are using for your monitor? I'm using a 2010 27" LED. The adapter works fine with my ATI cards, not sure why it doesn't like the EVGA cards.

I'm just using a 27" hooked right into the DisplayPort and a couple smaller ones hooked up DVI
