Just been trying the backdrop and the object motion blur, which I think are the two major added features since I last updated. Both work very well, very easy to use and spectacular results. Great work, Sighman!

Guessing this may just be me getting this, but after updating to latest test I see this issue in my log window

This is with the default poser/daz shaders, if I untick pause then the

If I change the shaders to Octane native then I get the error below and it will not render

I don't know if this is your issue but did you remember to update your graphics card driver to the latest version, as it needs this to work properly. This is mentioned on the download page but it is possible to miss it.

I am using

Version: 344.75 WHQL
Release Date: 2014.11.18

on a GeForce 770 on a Windows 8.1 x64 machine, Octane and the plugin were install on a clean system

That sounds like the right version - looks like you may have to wait for Sighman to respond.

You can ignore the picker errors, I'll try and suppress them but it just means you are moving the mouse over the ViewPort while Paused.

That looks much more serious. I have those models so I will try and reproduce the problem. When you say 'I change the shaders to Octane native' what exactly are you doing. Are you using 'Set Octane Material' from the Edit Menu or are you changing the shader in the material room? If you are changing the shader in the material room, what is the shader and shader type that you are changing. A before and after screen shot of the shader tree would be nice.

I am using the option - Set Octane Material' from the Edit Menu - I will try and test with some other scenes I know have worked in the past and will post back in the morning

Ok, so I loaded your scene and tried converting both the GIS textures and the V4 textures. I did not get the error you are seeing. What exactly did you have selected when you converted the materials? How did you select the object that you wanted to convert (selected through the assembly room viewport or via the tree view?)

I click on the item in the tree view then go to the edit menu, I am going to try a few other scenes and see what happens, I am thinking it is something my end as no one else has reported the same issue.

edit: seeing as I have had coffee and am more alert now, these are the steps that I do to get the issue to appear time after time, on the current scene that is

load items,
open plugin,
do a quick render (doesnt matter how long),
stop it,
select items in tree view,
convert to octane materials,
rebuild scene in plugin,
try to do another render

This is using Carrara 8.5, wonder if I should try it on 8.1

edit 2: something I forgot to add is that I am using default V4 shader, and on a clean scene it is giving the error only AFTER i convert the default V4 shaders to Octane.

edit 3: Definitely something to do with V4, if I put any shader on her from my content and try to re-render, I get that issue.

I will un-install and re-install the plugin and try with C8.1

Edit 4: doing it with Stable version as well, but only on that scene, older scenes are rendering fine - so atm I am at a loss, only other thing I can think of is 8.1

Ok, I can reproduce the issue with this workflow. For now, hit pause/resume or close the Octane Viewport instead of stop/reload. I'll try to get this fixed in the next release.

As a general note, you don't normally need to reload the scene after making changes. Most people just let Octane run while making changes. The plugin will pick up the changes and apply them right away. If this becomes too sluggish then Pause the render, make your changes, resume. Avoid Stop for now and only use Reload if there is a synchronization issue. Also, please report any synchronization issue so I can investigate the cause.
