And you are sure that you are not hitting the memory limit of the graphic card? This is when I saw these kind of artifacts.
Hi,
I don't know. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. In my opinion, it's a problem with the texture map.
Best wishes,
Thomas

This is a known issue with consolidation. Carrara does not generate the events I require to remap the materials. You need to rebuild your scene after consolidation. In fact some people have reported a crash in Carrara during consolidation so you should close the Octane viewport before you consolidate shaders. There is a big warning in the 2.06.0051 posting.
You are also running very close to your GPUs memory limits. Look in the log (the icon looks like a book) for errors.

Hi,
Ok, thanks for the hint! Ordered a GTX 770. Hope this helps

Again, this is relevant to the DAZ plugin but I think it applies to Octane Render generally that there is a limit to the number of texture slots that can be filled. So even if your scene doesn't hit the VRAM limit if the number of textures exceeds the cards limit then certain textures will not show up. I assume the same applies to the Carrara plugin.
It took me awhile to figure out why a scene using only 2GB of my 780 was missing textures until I learnt that once the texture slots are filled then textures will be dropped. There are ways round this but until a future OR update removes this limit then textures will continue to be limited by the card. Just thought I'd mention this in case it has any bearing on the problem.

That is a limitation that has been removed from Octane 2. You are now only limited by memory.Spectralis wrote:Again, this is relevant to the DAZ plugin but I think it applies to Octane Render generally that there is a limit to the number of texture slots that can be filled. Hi again,
Now, I use the GTX770 and it works fine. However, it seems that I need at least 8 GB of VRAM to work with really large scenes and textures. I've read, however, that there will be an out-of-core rendering in future versions of Octane Render that should solve the problem (hopefully
Best wishes,
Thomas
