337.23 is mine. Can you try to render in Live Viewer the some scenes from demo scenes?

Hi Dive,

It should work. I have a K4200 and a 690 in this machine and i just installed the latest NVIDIA Quadro driver (340.66) and C4D R15 with the 2.05 plugin and tried your scene.
It crashed once, the very first time after i installed the plugin. I believe it was a setup issue (maybe the GPUs were not selected properly). After i went into the octane settings, de-selected all GPUs, re-ticked them it has worked without fail. Please try upgrading to the latest Quadro driver and double checking the octane GPU settings (try un-ticking and re-ticking your cards).

There is also a machine with a K5200 and 2x titans in the office and i haven't had any problems with this one in octane either (although i have not tested it with C4D R15 and the latest plugin).

Thanks
Chris.

Straight from nvidia: http://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/2280

This was also confirmed by a chat session directly with nvidia's support.

I've spend many nights with this. Finally gave up and pulled the quadro out of my system. Very stupid situation.
There was a moment when I got them working but new drivers screwed things up again. It's not worth the trouble and risk of running an unstable system.

I hoppe yours is a different issue though, preferably fixable. Good luck!

Interesting, I know this has been a long standing grey area but I wonder if they have done some work to help these cards live together in the past 5 years (at least as far as CUDA is concerned). Considering in my recent experience (the two machines I mentioned above along with testing out a K20) I have not had any issues. At least no more than usual when swapping cards in and out and installing different drivers etc - windows can get a little confused sometimes...

well i asked NVIDIA and they were like nope different architectures not supported, but maybe it works for some?

I keep getting consistent octane crashes and occasionally I think cinema 4d is also freaking out on me, im not sure about the latter however :/

I have just reproduced the C4D hang on an iMac with a 775M (in addition to the machine with a K4200 and 690) so I don't think it's related to your GPU setup.
All you need to do is hit ctrl+r in rapid succession. Octane is not made to be restarted so quickly, it's made to have the live viewer open and you just leave it rendering and update to the GPU as you make changes that need updating. Things like octane material setting changes are instantly done and you can see the change as you make them in the live viewer.

Thanks
Chris.

So is there a fix for the issue coming soon possibly? And is it better to run 4 titans just to be safe? Because I do get intermittent crashes as well and I can't seem to pin point that issue, along with weird artifacts like when I use the lasso tool (i sent you a screen shot Chris)
