While he could be working on both projects I think that the silence from Refractive on this question says it all. Trying to keep this hidden is understandable from the marketing point of view (newsflash: Octane render lost 2/3 of its workforce), but it's certainly not an inspiring move for the relation between the company and userbase.

I really hope that Nostromo is still there, though I can't understand why he hasn't posted anything on the forum in over a month. A lot of questions and issues on the forum are not promptly answered (or not at all), or get answered by other users - that would warrant some more involvement from the developers.

Perhaps they had a fight and Brecht quit? That is something they wouldn`t speak to loud about.

Ive read somewhere that one of the team members have a bad temper so it isen`t that unrealistic :P

Well i dont know. Im just throwing out stuff. Who knows, perhaps they have a great suprise for us ;)

Hi guys,

Sorry for the late reply, but we've prepared a statement regarding the current circumstances:

As there has been much speculation regarding the loss of a couple of our team we felt it necessary to provide this post for your edification. There are circumstances which we can not discuss due to binding agreements but suffice it to say that currently there are many wolves dressed in sheeps clothing trying to do harm to Refractive Software. Primarily this is because there's nothing else quite like our software and lots of entities would like to do something about that. As you may have extrapolated we have endured some collatoral damage, but we are plugging in new resources as fast as we can. Creating a more global office in the United States will assist Refractive Software to position ourselves to be a longtime player in the rendering field. Please be assured that we are working diligently to complete the next beta release and are grateful for the patience of the Octane Render user community as we regroup and prepare for the final push for Octane Render 1.0 final.

I hope everyone can understand that leaving for the US to start a new office for the company is a pretty difficult thing to do, and i hope you understand the difficulties facing me and the remaining crew during the next weeks and you're patience.

Unfortunately we are not legally able to disclose any more details, so we would appreciate some support im the community forums during the upcoming weeks if you are able...

Yours,
Radiance

So basically Brecht and Nostromo are not working with RS for whatever reasons (industrial espionage, wtf :?: ). That's a little hard to grasp and discouraging to hear...

But I really hope that you find new talented programmers to work with, because a lot of us put our bets on Octane...

Good luck
