I appreciate you explaining how the aperture works etc., but may I suggest this was not the topic of this thread in the first place? I am aware of how the aperture works in photography (I work in photography as well as 3D and graphic design). The Aperture "0" setting (as well as all other camera settings in DAZ itself, apart from focal length maybe) has nothing to do with real-life photography, but for some reason it seems the only way to remove depth of field in Octane, even if it is "cheating" somewhat and that was what Melissa wanted to achieve. The main reason for having 0 DoF, for me at least, is when you need to combine your alpha-enabled renders with other images in post-production (for example: external archi-viz shots) and this gives you way more options.

I struggled with finding a solution until I found out that changing the OctaneRender Aperture to 0 gets rid of the DoF, so I don't think the option was ever provided with the plugin. It may be that eventually turning "depth of field" on/off in DAZ camera setting will trigger the change in Octane as well, but until this happens we need to settle for a workaround, which, I agree, isn't very intuitive.
