Region render - is it natural that when I select a tiny region, speed of rendering drops dramatically - even 10 times?
maybe they cheeted here: You know all they make is just mask for us to think that it's region render =) when all it's is not showing periferal (unselected) piece in action =DDD

Cruel Joke, sorry, let's check =)

2. Subdivision level - I can set it globally via preferences. Is there a way to set it for an individual obj only?

Can someone please post a link where we could buy the update? not the standalone at 300.

I've spent the last 10 minutes searching for it at I can't see how it wasn't mentioned in the first post nor the email announcing it as I suppose the aim it to make the current user pool upgrade their licences not buy new ones.

Go to "BUY NOW" and hit the top right button "UPGRADE FROM 1.0"

Ok thanks guys! Now anyone knows about the plugin upgrade? Like how long is the period mentioned here:
For a limited time, users who upgrade to OctaneRender™ 2 can also upgrade an existing plugin license at no additional cost to make use of an available OctaneRender™ 2 plugin or receive a voucher towards the 2.0 plugin when it’s available.
or maybe where are we to find such voucher?

3. I am trying to use the "random color texture" node to pin to the "3D transform" node to translate a texture over instances in e.g. X direction randomly. There is no way to do it. I asked for this feature here
http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=39912

and face_off said:

"You can feed the new Random Color Texture (which is a random color between 0 and 1 for each instance) into any compatible pin, including rotations and scales in projection nodes. So I may provide a lot of what you need."

So guys please let me know if this is possible, or if not yet - when?

Here is a simple example in .orbx format of rendom color node assigned to some cloned cubes:

beppe,

I am not talking about random colors - it is obvious. I am talking about random transform values, i.e., I want to move, rotate or scale texture over instances randomly in certain direction. So I would expect a node that allows me to set: min, max, step (optional), seed.

Let me give a short example: I have a 1x1x1 meter cube and I want to move an image texture over it in X direction randomly, but no more than 30cm to the left, 50 cm to the right, by +-5cm step randomly (using uniform distribution). So I would enter into the random value node: -0.3 (min), +0.5 (max), 0.05 (step), 0 (seed).

This is what I mean by random values.
