These attributes do not make sense for global meshes. As e.g. in this case - the Octane core does not have your "Cube" mesh (with all its visibility attributes). It has the common "global" mesh (which includes a lot of other meshes having their own different visibility attributes each), and Octane core is not able to hide-unhide parts of the mesh objects, only complete mesh objects.

So, if you want to use these settings for objects - you should separate these objects into distinct objects (that is mark them "Scatter" or similar).

Hey Jimstar, is there a way to make all of the objects you have selected a certain mesh type, or do you have to go one by one? I currently have 100s of objects in my scene and I would want all of them but a couple to be static objects. Then I have several instances as well.
What would be the best way to do this?

I am damned ! I tested many times my big car animation on 10 frames, and everything was fine for rendering and alembic export as well.

 I only changed the frames number from 0 to 10 to 0 to 990. After 6 hours of export, there is no alembic file in the output folder !

No error message in the console.

I tested again on 5 frames, and I get the alembic file. It is built at the end, after the last frame so it is not possible to know if everything goes well until the end of the export...

:?: Would it be possible to build the alembic file after each frame ? This would allow to make sure after the first frame and all along the process that the export is actually working !

That would avoid this nightmare of losing tens of hours in a project...

Hi,

i get an error, so there is nothing rendering.

Error activate render-server.

Firewall exception is set for blender, octane server, octane standalone.

But there is nothing happening.

How to activate the plugin?
i have entered the usern/pw... but on the octane live accounts the blender plugin is not activated.

My system is iMac 2012, bootcamp win7 x64

the older version from the customer area : 1.20.2 - 2.8 works without a problem
