Newtek are offering a deal for XSI users. The cool thing about Lightwave is it does not have the clutter of Maya & also has the better render engine that also has free render nodes. That's where I'd put my money.

You can work with Softinage how long you like, or better how long it runs on windows.
There are some studios which are working still with Soft2012, so you can work with Soft2015 some years.

Personal i´m work with 2013. For what i make, it works good.
And i used it only because the SDK has the possibility to create DLL based shaders. Before you have to make spdl files.

And be honest, which great updates we have become every year for our subscription?
They were only bugfixes or service packs at most.

I think, Softimage will be used lots of time after 2016.
And who knows, maybe they open the SDK in some years.

I ditched Autodesk several years back, never looked back. Lack of innovation, and imagination is so frustrating. I feel for Softimage users.

Good thing is you all have some wonderful options available Cinema 4D, Modo, Houdini, and Lightwave.

Totally agree with you and just want to know --> who knows all possibilities of SI in this world today ;)
There is so much to do and learn.

I'm sure to use it many years ...

Hope you will continue to develop Octane plugin for SI --> Cant wait for ICE support :)
