Hey Christopher,
Sure! I used to have an iMac up until a while ago which had a quad core i7 with 3.4 Ghz. Not exactly sure which kind of i7 though, but you can easily look that up.
To render one frame with vray it took me between 40 minutes and 1.5 hours depending on the shot. Keep in mind thought that this wasn't really a good workstation, if you take a good dual xeon workstation you can cut that easily by half and then add another computer and you are almost where octane is.
It just makes a lot more sense for me as an individual to have a workstation with a lot of graphic cards instead of a few different workstation and I only have two titans right now so there is a lot more room to upgrade if needed. Hope that helped

Thanks! Sorry for the late reply. Most of the texture are procedural. I only made UV maps for the wood, the shutter pipe and the stuff where you can find text on. Everything else, like for example the metal, is simple cubic projection mapping for the textures.LFedit wrote:Congrats on an awesome short, looks fantastic and very well edited! Curious to know if you hand textured the entire model and what your workflow was. The chips and wear of the camera are just amazing. Cheers on such a successful project.
I just tried to have nice maps for the spec and bump channels, I think this really payed off. If you have any specific questions let me know, i would be happy to answer them!
