You're right , I think it is a big Deal, and everyone has expectations, including me .
Let's say one step was already climbed .
Octane cloud render is closer,therefore , I suppose Octane 1.5 is not too far way, but it is only supposing, I guess.
But I am thinking about the December 15 prediction, few weeks , maybe a month away, not my words !

Erm, March is round the corner.

Apparently, you have missed the Release Candidates... which many of us have been enjoying (and some using in production) for months. Virtually all of the 1.5 goodies are in there. And the newer RC's are pretty f-ing stable, if you are not needing complex Alembic stuff, which is still being ironed out.
