Well, I've looked several times the last manual from head to toes, and I couldn't find a flag to choose thinlens node to render from at command line. But I might have missed it or over looked it. I wouldn't be surprised ;).
BTW have a good weekend and relax!

there are aperture radius and focal depth parameters, which is what i think you're asking after.

Is this trick still working with the newest pre-release? Can't seem to get it working.

Would still be great to just simply create new camera nodes and link them up to switch views around.

Yes, it's working, but you'll have to use stereo switch instead after you relink the new camera node..

Thanks Andrian. I must be doing something wrong then :)

I have my scene imported, and in the graph editor right-click and choose Add/Camera/ThinLens

- wire up the new camera
- click 'enabled" under stereo
- rotate camera around

Then when I rewire the original camera it has moved too. I tried disabling stereo before and after moving the second camera but no joy.

What am I missing?
