If you have 2 images, one with 1000 samples, and the other with 100 samples, the second should be mixed only 5%.
Thanks for the clarification on that. Hadn't dawned on me to try that. I was always mixing 50% for each image in a pair, 33% for three, etc.
I agree that multi light image file could be a great option, although the fastest renders will be done if you do a separate render for each light.
Yah, that's a classic case of you can't have your cake and eat it too. If you don't use Multilight, you get quicker images, but no post flexibility. If you use Multilight, you have to live with long render times, but you have a lot greater flexibility in post.
