I would like to add a texture (a photo), which has already its own true shadows and do not want to edit them with those of octane render
a way would do everything in compositing but I would avoid ...

If you want to render an object and overlay it onto a photo background, use the "kernel"->"alphachannel" -> enable. Then render and save the resulting image to PNG. Then load into Photoshop/GIMP and overlay it onto your photo.

The only way to have flat material with texture is to use Direct light with Ambient or Sample environment => no shadows but for the whole scene so you have to do some compositing.

One thing to keep in mind is that Octane doesn't support screen mapping a texture.

To make an object with a texture which is not affected by any lighting, use a diffuse material with diffuse reflection 0.0, then add an emission node and put your texture into the efficiency/texture slot.

I would suggest using your 3D package to render without shadows. I do not think that Octane is set up to do this.
