Yeah, you need a custom case with 10 slots as the mother board is beyond e-atx standard on the SR2. I've seen it working with dual loop liquid cooled, but you are probably correct with quad hydros not fitting. The solution may be 2x480hydro on board and 2x480OC Cubix or 4x 480oc on board.
I spoke to EricC at cubix today and he says engineering is reviewing the 3x-480 Hydro setup. Looks like it could work as the PCI slots are spread out further apart then a standard case, and would be liquid cooled.
I just noticed, newegg has rebates on all 480's from 20-50 bucks! Thinking of buying 3x-480's and modding to fit a koolance water block. Would be cheaper than the existing EVGA hydro's and no wait time for backorders.

4x-480 SLI under Cryo.
Both under EVGA X58 Classified 4-Way SLI, not Sr2.
I don't think the Sr2 MB are stable enough even with their new 1200 PSU. Looks like you'll need two PSU's to get it running, among other things that has caused me to rethink my current build. Check out video at 07:50.
