Thank you, I hate it to see feature requests in a announce for a new version with new features and many bugfixes.
It´s like Porsche present a new 911 and all crying why four-wheel steering is not implemented. :|
Please friends keep the announce treads free from feature requests, it is for questions and reporting issues and congratulations.

Peace, mib.

I don't believe for a second that Otoy could somehow gain a clearer view of client needs by purposely not having polls but by manually monitoring forum threads and guessing how many people would add a plus one to a request if they had the time to trawl through the forums and then also know what that persons preference is compared to the other requests they've added their name to.

Nobody disputes that. It's just that we don't want a public voting system or a system where you can see the request statistics for the reasons I tried to explain above.

Cheers,

Yeah - I understand your reasons as you've stated them - I just want to make it clear that I totally disagree with that ( OTOY's) standpoint.

I would agree with the developers on having features poll. On the other hand, to let the users be in the dark about the roadmap is also not a good choice.

Perhaps after Octane 1.0 then Otoy can release some roadmap of which features are on the list, which would be a balanced approach of the above situations?
