Hi. I finally got some time to play with this, but for some reason it doesn't work for me. It's a real shame, since what is working is really great.
If you are still developing it, here is the message Octane gives me:
There was an error parsing the command-line arguments:
Couldn't read argument value from string '--film-width' Argument: (--imager-exposure)

Hey jamnique,
Sorry to hear that you can't fully play with it.
Your error seems to be related solely to Octane, so I'm a bit puzzled as I can't reproduce it here.
What the rig does is just some calculations through expressions in Softimage then passes along those values to Octane export... it is very basic. Besides I don't use any --film-width argument... thus making me think it is an Octane internal problem.
Have you asked to face or radiance about that problem?

Thank you for your reply. It didn't cross my mind, i thought it was probably caused by some changes in Octane or Softimage syntax that made the new versions incompatible with the script. I planned to read the script line by line and maybe try to change the spelling of the problematic parameter, but never got to doing it since i have very little free time now. And no scripting skills whatsoever, so it would have been a long shotAmplitude wrote:Hey jamnique, Have you asked to face or radiance about that problem?

But does it at least work in Softimage ? Do you see the projection planes in the viewports? Does it produce values in the 'Aperture' and 'Depth' fields of the Octane exporter?

Yes, this part works flawlessly. It just doesn't export properly. Perhaps its just a matter of the built-in octane exporter node.Amplitude wrote:But does it at least work in Softimage ? With lots of fiddling and eventually a system restart got it to work !
Fantastic ! Really needed this, otherwise it was kind of a limitation that just kept coming back.
THANK YOU Amplitude ....
