No you can't, but if you manage to put a bilboard with the background image in your scene and thus it will be rendered with your character, I've no problem with that.Chris wrote:I am planning to do a character render, am i allowed to change the background in Photoshop afterwards?

Heres my submission, though most likley going to resubmit:
My "Inspiration", a sensor on my desk that happens to look very similar...
Tech Specs
Windows Vista 64 Bit
Dual core 2.20 GHz
4GB RAM
GeForce 9500GT
1GB Memory
Model Specs
803160 Triangles
Modeled in Blender 2.5 (SVN)
Render Specs
40 Frames
~55 Samples/pixel
1 minute render-time
No Post Production
Device Manager:

Still:

Animated GIF (May take awhile to load, 9mb size, will be smoother once all frames are downloaded):

Sorry for the bad resolution, Windows kept killing the display driver if i got to a high resolution, my card is not that good (only 30$). I should be able to get better results with the linux version. Also need to improve the textures, and tweak Octane's import settings. Also, the text is on the top, as that's where Blender puts it. Can change it if need be. Everything is mine, so no "credits" to anyone.

WOOT! for first ever animation in Octane

Sounds fun. Working on a few scenes that might make it in if I can get my materials all worked out.

My first WIP for the competition.....My idea is create a graphic studio where i'm only use a single PC with OCTANE RENDER.
I would give the sense of speed and power on this revolutionary step to me and others "RENDER-MEN"

Cheers
