wow 0.21 samples. This is really really slow for such a small resolution. But at least it works!

few questions:
it works with animated instances?
it works with instanced xrefs?
it works with pflow?
any plan to adopt Octane proxies?
Are you implementing a new scattering tool?
what about Octane fur?

1) What do you mean? All objects are movable.gabrielefx wrote:few questions:

2) It is not a problem. I will make a support.
3) Hard to say. I don't have any experience with pflow.
4) All objects will have an option like movable proxies.
5) Not yet.
6) It is impossible in GPU yet.
"All objects are movable"
Does this mean that now we don't have to wait 20 seconds or so for Octane to REload objects to render the next frame?! will it support deformations in "realtime" as well (skin mod and such)?

All object which is indicated as movable proxy can be moved. It doesn't support object deformation, but if you press update button, it will take time only for this objects which were deformed.nildoe wrote:"All objects are movable"

Oh Man this is so great! so in other words (sorry im a bit slow on english sometimes) if in the same scene i have a box moving and an animated character..only the animated char will be updated, if i scroll the timeline i will see the box move in "Real-time" but not the character..yes?
What about Octanelights will these be moved in realtime as well?

Any ideas how this(instancing) is going to work with standalone version of octane and exporter scripts?
cheers,

I really hope, else for all without integrated plugins Octane is not an option for the future. It's not only about instancing, but the whole "Octane being able to recognize objects" thing and every feature that depends on this.n1k wrote:Any ideas how this(instancing) is going to work with standalone version of octane and exporter scripts?

It was mentioned (promised) that everybody will get the same "Octane experience", so that would mean yes. I suppose it's more a question of when (a new exchange file format would need to be done too).
