Rendering out a more highly detailed face scan, after editing the base textures to more properly work in a layered unbiased environment.

Truly amazing work... I think that some hotpixel removal would improve it even more

Thank you very much! :D There are actually no hotpixels to remove. What you are seeing is the actual specular reflection of moist, fairly oily/sweaty skin under the afternoon sun, which was the target look I was going for. Picture an olive skinned model with a bit of baby oil & strong sunlight at an angle, & you'll see the same affect at a similar angle. The texture of their skin also determines how much the bright areas pool or break up ;)

in fact he doesn't breathe and has his eyes closed. this sometimes could lead to the impression, that somebody is dead - even with real humans :)
but i suspect this will change if he opens his eyes, smiles a bit and directly looks into the camera... ;)
great work...
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply

That's why they call them "death masks" Thanks for the compliment...and wait til you see the version where he opens his eyes..and reaches out of your monitor to touch your forehead, showing off one of the new features of the next Octane build  :!: :!:

Looks good in general, did you make the model ?
The eyebrows would look better modeled and rendered, only so far you can push it when it's just textures. Same with the facial hair. There are some issues with the nostrils I noticed too, and I'd like to see the texture under the eyes cleaned up so it's not so burnt. Despite his skin color , it would not be so burnt like this. Neverthless the specular looks good
