Here are our first renders with Octane Render done over the last 3 days. This software is insane and opens up a totally new field of 'virtual photography'.

Most renders were left no more then 3 or 4 minutes, so some are still a bit grainy. Not bad for 2560 x 1600 on a 30" screen though. :)

Any feedback is appreciated.

@cornel: Thank you very much. We are both also passioned photographers and this tool makes everything possible.

@GeoPappas: Yeah its unreal. We have it running on this one and another pc with an old GeForce 9800GT. The speed difference is x40 for the same scene (it usually runs around 3-10fps @ 1600 x 1200). We run on a 30" apple display with preview size 1600 x 1200 and usually its still pretty smooth to navigate around and find the right 'shot'.

@radiant: I believe its the ICE material from the LiveDB I used there without modification. i think its the texture distorting, making it look like a scratch in the lower part.

@sanblack: Running 4 x PNY GTX580 on an EVGA Classified 4-way SLI. Its a PC i custom built for Octane last week, now dubbed the "octanizer". Also works as a pretty good room heater :) I might post some pics of it if anyone is interested.

@r4ytrace & @thiagobulhoes: Thanks a lot!

see, here's what I like out of octane, when people post their first renderings, they most of time look pretty interesting and not all that bad.. some stuff just a bit noisy..
This should be a real life testing comparison. Compare other software's first try gallery and compare.. cinema4d's default looks awful for instance (I like and use c4d so I can trash it)
