DEFAULT SETTINGS FOR RENDER
Moderator: face_off
Out of curiosity, at which aspect ratio?
To elaborate (for those who may requisite it)
Some of them are defined in popular "standards", others much less or not at all.
For instance (to demonstrate with a few examples), 2K (DCP), 4K (UHD, DCI) while 6K is typically an arbitrary camera maximum resolution (it varies between camera models, as it's a recording resolution it's not restricted as the delivery/consumption defined specifications).
In the absence of that information, one would tend to default to 1:1 (square) but unless everyone is rendering for Zack Snyder (so to speak), it wouldn't be that ordinary.
There is a Film Settings list (at least in Standalone). In some earlier versions, this list was an editable text file on Windows OS. Is it still the case?
In the meantime, for both Standalone and plugins, there is this free download ORBX resource on formats (aspect ratio, sometimes resolution and camera virtual sensor).
PS: this page was submitted as feature request for the implementation of more modern "industry" formats in both still and motion picture photography.
