I'm getting a reoccurring issue when I try to render with Octane in C4D.
I hit render, and the Log pops up with this message:

I have not seen any mention of DXGI on the forum, so scratching my head at this point!
I seem to be able to get around it temporarily if I create a new render setting – set up everything from scratch including AOVs, output paths, etc, and try again. That got it working for a minute. But I realised my samples were too high, so stopped the render, adjusted them, restarted the render, and this error pops up again.

Hi,
weird, what happens if you run OctaneRender Standalone 2024.1?
https://render.otoy.com/customerdownloa ... _1_win.exe
Anyway, definitely better if you write to help at otoy dot com, since this is not a common issue.
ciao,
Beppe

Hi,
it should be Nvidia driver related.
Please try to roll back to previous Nvidia Studio driver with a clean install, and report back, thanks.

I've been having constant issues to be honest, which sometimes give the DXGI error, sometimes OCIO related... CUDA 700, CUDA 999.. you name it.
I have recently tried the following:
Removed all graphics drivers with DDU, and perform a clean install of driver NVIDIA Studio driver 552.22, and 560.94
Swapped the GPUs around on the motherboard, to ensure they're seated correctly and just to see if it helped..
Disabled one GPU at a time through Octane settings to check whether it was related to one specific card – it was not, the errors still occur with only one card enabled.
Removed my NVLink adapter.
Completely removed Octane and reinstalled.
I've just tried this in Cinema 4D 2024.5.1 with Octane 2023.1.3-[R6] and got this error log:

I should note that the OCIO settings are fine. I can wait for a minute without changing anything, hit the render button again, and it works.
It seems completely random. Yet means that I can't leave an animation rendering, because it often hits a point after so many frames that it fails and pops up the error log again.

Ok, try to reset c4doctane preferences.
To do so, please close c4d, then delete the oct.dat file at the following path, the c4doctane preferences will be reset to default, and a new oct.dat file will be created on next c4d start:
`C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Roaming\MAXON\Cinema4D-RXX_RANDOM_CODE\prefs\oct.dat`
Looking forward for your feedback.
ciao,
Beppe
