Hello guys, I am working on a project that requires to render my animations at 23,040 x 1280 pixels.

What is the max render resolution in Octane?

Is it 8,000?

Any ideas how can I accomplish that output?

Thank you very much for giving me some ideas,
I really appreciate it!!!

Hi,

That would be GPU dependent (implied: limited by the computational GPU(s) resource).

I have a RTX 3090, would that be enough?

What about system RAM?
You need a lot of RAM with huge frame buffer.

Octane itself can render 23 040 x 1280 px images, you can try with a simple scene.
It also depends on the features you use, like AI denoising, etc. because in that case it needs to allocate more buffers.
Also check your out-of-core settings.
If it's 18 panels of 1280 x 1280 px maybe you can also render them separately and combine them afterwards (unless you use screen-space effects like bloom).

I use 3dsmax and never was able to render 15.000px in wide stable.
Most times it crashes before. The RAM usage goes up a lot too. So RAM will be a bottleneck.

If I really need a large resolution, I render multiple tiles with lets say my desired 10k pixels in height and then use multiple cameras for the left and right parts. Some architectural photographers do it this way too. But in 3D it's easier.
You also could use the Upsampler, but I had trouble with it too.

Thank you, guys I will try your suggestions and also try to render with minimal features (like AI denoising, etc) and then if necessary I will add more features if possible.

I have 32 GB of Ram but I will try to order some more.

Thank you very much!!!

My suggestion would be to use the lens shift feature, either C4Ds internal or Octanes Camera lens shift. I think there even was
a "Tiled Camera" preset in the Asset Browser.
