I have been asked to produce a bunch of test renders of a vodka bottle that will fade from one colour to another from top to bottom.

The actual bottles are going to be sprayed with transparent paint/ink and I have to visualise that.

The client has supplied hex colour codes for the colours in the gradient.

I'm wondering what the best way to do this is?

I'm having to use a composite material, as the bottle has displaced areas, and printed graphics.

I've tried a gradient in the transmission channel of my glass sub material, and a gradient driving absorption in my sub material, also wondering about a gradient in the coating channel.

Can anyone advise? I can't show visuals as I'm under a strict NDA.

Hi,
I will re-share Ed O'Connell (llennoco)'s setup that he kindly did for someone on the Octane Discord server:
