I've found this beautiful effect with caustics:

Tried different ways in octane c4d but it's difficult to create something like the example.
How can I create such effect with my octane plugin 2021.1-(R3) for c4d? What are the best settings?

thanks in advance,

Hi,

PMC is capable of producing volumetric caustics. However, it comes at a high computational cost:

There is a new Photon Tracing Kernel, though. It is capable of converging reflective/refractive caustics (as far as I know, not yet volumetric caustics) much quicker than the PT and PMC kernel: https://www.elsksa.me/scientia/cgi-offl ... r-caustics for more information.

It is worth to mention that Cycles is not "capable" of handling what is commonly called "hard caustics". As it is an Open Source software, I do not know how far some people have "forked it" with a caustics "solver". Any shading based solution is a trick/workaround and does not qualify as a naturally path-traced caustics computation as Octane does (with the three PT, PMC and Photon Tracing Kernels).
