Hi There, I'm having a lot of issues with Octane on c4d OS X.
I'm really confused by what web driver or version of cuda to use... also by what version of octane is stable.
Any version of octane above OctaneRender Studio 3.08.4 (3080400) seems to crash on start up of c4d.

If I use 3.08.4 it starts to render but after a few minutes I get
Started logging on 22.03.19 09:36:12

OctaneRender Studio 3.08.4 (3080400)

CUDA error 700 on device 0: an illegal memory access was encountered
-> kernel execution failed(kernel25)
CUDA error 700 on device 0: an illegal memory access was encountered
-> failed to launch kernel(kernel26)
device 0: path tracing kernel failed

I'm using C4D r19
I have a 1080ti card in a bizon box with Mac OS X 10.13.6
CUDA Driver Version: 410.130 (if I use the latest cuda, octane doesn't work at all)
Nvidia web driver 387.10.10.10.40.122 - I can't load any older version as oSX says I need newer drivers.

best regards

Hi,
is the GTX 1080Ti correctly listed in System Report, or Nvidia GPU system preferences?
Which eGPU script have installed?
I use this one and it works pretty well:

Code: Select all

bash <(curl -s  https://raw.githubusercontent.com/learex/macOS-eGPU/master/macOS-eGPU.sh)  --beta --nvidiaDriver 387.10.10.10.40.105 —iopcieTunneledPatch
You need to disable SIP, and disconnect the eGPU box before running it, and go back to CUDA 410.130 after finishing installation.
ciao Beppe

thank you.. I'll give this a go. I'm using the script supplied to my by bizon.. its the PurgeWrangler one.
my gpu is seen in the system report.. I can even render in octane 3.08.4, if I use octane for or higher octane crashes as I start the renderer.

thank you
