Hi,
Does anyone know if the Multi Shader in C4D using an index ratio of textures (for stack of 12" record sleeves) will work in Octane?
I've got a stack of record sleeves in a cloner and have the different artwork for each sleeve within a multi shader using the index ratio to texture each sleeve with a different texture.
At the moment Octane is only showing one of the artwork textures copied onto every cloner object.
Is there a way to make this work in Octane?
Cheers.

Hi Teddi,
if you use the Mograph MultiShader, you need to untick the Render Instance option, otherwise, you need to ise the Octane Random color node in a Gradient, to assign different textures on clones.
I'm quite sure that there should be an example scene here:

Thanks a lot Beppe,
I found a multi shader setup in the example files and managed to adapt my scene to something similar.
Although I'm still not getting all of the textures distributed across each cloned object, there should be 50 textures distributed on a one-to-one basis but I can only get a smaller number to show with some random repetition.
The scene has a cloner object with a random effector and a shader effector, I had to turn off the shader effector to get the multishader to work (with the shader effector on, only one texture appears on every cloned object).

Hi fabian,
please have a look at these documents by Ahmet about instances:

It's not supported well(not perfectly fitting to current way i used). Pls choose the ways as in new help manual.

Hi Fabian,
sorry, my fault, now the links should be corrected.

Hi beppe,
thanks for the links, but they only cover different color of the clones, not different textures from a multi shader ?
this does not fix my problem, i have a physical simulation with a lot of objects and i want to distribute a texture (not just a color) across all the objects with a c4d multi-shader.
This works in general, but the distribution of the texture seems not to use all files attached to the multi shader, so i have to many repetition in the textures.
Thanks,
Fabian

you can use octane gradient mapper with these generators.
