How can i set a light source in octane render ?

it's simple:
use a normal - e.g. a plane. give that plane a material.
in octane, you can let that plane emit light by changing its "null emission" parameter to "black body". that option lives on the bottom of every diffuse material. there you can set the lights color temperature too. (hence black body).

Any piece of mesh can be a light source in Octane - all you have to do is to set a diffuse material of a mesh and then set an emission value for that material (this option is available in pre23_2 version, you can't do it in 2.2 and earlier versions). And of course you can always simply use a sun as your light source ;)
