Hi.
A question about very high resolutions ans adaptive sampling.
Does adaptive sampling slow dont the render upon heavy load of noise checking when rendering i.e. 14k x 10x pixel images?
WHo does the noise check? CPU or GPU?
just to know what im doing and how my system plays along.
Thanks a lot.
Moritz

sorry for late reply.
Noise calculation is done in CPU. But every time we request work from GPU; we need to upload Adaptive sampling data which will be around 16kb or less if the group pixel mode is 2x2 or 4x4 per 1024 *512.
I haven't tested it with large resolutions. But in theory, there is a little overhead at the start. But you will start seeing benefits once the adaptive sampling kicks in and stop rendering of pixels that are clean.
Thanks

Thanks for the answer VJ
Hi mac3d,
sorry but the question is not clear
If you mean Info kernel, just choose it from the first pop up menu in Kernel node of the Render Target, and change the Type to Wireframe.
If you mean Info Render passes, just create the Render passes node in the Render Target, if not present, then scroll down to the Info channel section and enable the Wireframe channel.
Or do you mean something else?

Hi Guys,
After a big use of adaptive sampling now I have impression is not working so well with this features like , SSS, Motion-blur and Volume.
In many scenes the adaptive sampling doesn't work so well with this features, doesn't seam to be sampled the areas where this are option are used.
The others parts is fine I will give some further tests with the latest version the 3.06.4 but so far looks like still the problem.
Best,
JO
