Hi everyone,
I have ordered the HTC Vive which will arrive in June, and I just ordered Octane 3.
I'm really excited about combining the two.
Is it already possible to use the Vive with OctaneVR? Or is there only support for the Oculus Rift?
Could someone point me in the right direction? I would like to start preparing my scenes.
Thank you!
Charles
How to combine HTC Vive and Octane?
You can render with Octane (VR or normal) a stereo cube map that can be viewed on any VR device. I believe (although need to confirm) that the Rift's 360 photos app for PC includes our Octane VR renders, and should be able to load your own renders from your local storage.Reality4 wrote:Hi everyone,

Virtual Desktop also supports our VR cube map format. We are also bringing the ORBX player (and server!) to PC shortly, now that Octane 3.00 is out the door.

How about Unity and Octane baking? This was at least hinted at long ago but I haven't heard much since.
Thx.
Thx.
Hi Goldorak,
Thank you for the feedback.
I would like to navigate my scenes in VR interactively, like in your Unreal Engine 4 Cloud demos.
Is that what the ORBX Player and Server will provide?
Even 'simple' WASD-navigation & basic collision would be great to experience.
Thanks,
Charles
