Is there any workaround where I can use the default Octane projection node to modify a native C4D shader? I mean since Octane is already converting it to a texture internally it would make sense to be able to do that. I know you can use the parameters in the material tag to modify the C4D shaders but since I always use the node editor it could be handy to be able to modify it there.

That's truth that we convert them to images. But C4D shaders have not any input to connect transform/projection. Also i think this is not our way to go. Let's wait for an OSL release. I hope that allow to rewrite most of these without any tricks.
