Well this is becoming increasingly frustrating. I had everything working fine, everything was rendering. Then I changed my particle setup (just modifying the same thing that had worked just yesterday) and now it won't render in the Picture Viewer at all.
Ironically, it works if I enable "Spline" in the Hair Render "Objects" tab, but that also provides the same problem I had to solve before- wildly innacurate render results. I'm uploading 2 projects- 1 from yesterday that works just fine, and one from today that doesn't work.
If someone could please help me that would be wonderful, I feel like I'm going insane over here!

i'm checking it. It should work as how hairs do in theory. But my first idea is that there is a problem with caching of XP+trails. When i scrub the timeline it behaves little strange. I'll post my decision after doing more tests.

You forget to enable Hair Render->Objects->Spline. Also your scene looks behaves strange on output. I can't understand why, but please use my scene. It's working well on LV or PV.

Ya like I said above, when I enable "Spline" it destroys the output. I have other scenes almost identical to this one that work and render fine without it enabled. For some reason this one is just... broken. Well thanks for taking a look maybe I'll just use Physical Render for this shot
I actually figured out a solution for this... If I disable the "Spline" setting in the Hair Render options, and then in the Hair Object set "Cloning " to 1, zero out the root and tip settings, it renders as it should. And just so you know this is not an Octane issue, I got the same behavior in the other renderers when I tried it. Must be an X-Particle/Hair thing. Anyway thanks for taking a look

Does anyone have a fix for this besides limiting the scene to one emitter? Is it possible to have multiple emitters and have Octane properly refresh the scene when you go back to the first frame? Thanks!RyanJP wrote:It's weird that problem disappeared when I limited the scene to just one emitter, maybe that was causing it. Now, however I have a completely different issue! When I render in the Live Viewer everything looks great, but when I output to Picture Viewer the color is completely different- white when it should be red![]()
This is my first time rendering a scene with Octane so I just need to learn how to break everything first I guess, haha. Uploading scene, plz take a look, I appreciate it!
You touch up to this very old topic. Plugin is updated mostly.

Hi Aoktar, aoktar wrote:You touch up to this very old topic. Plugin is updated mostly.
Is this addressed only in Octane 3.0 alpha? Because in 2.25 R2, I am getting the same problem using hair with the PV not rendering what I see in the LV. I opened the scene that you posted in this thread that shows your pic with the LV and PV looking the same as it should. But when I render it your scene, the hair does not render in the PV. This is a constant problem that I've been seeing with Octane c4d... the PV not matching the LV.
What can I do in 2.25 R2 to make your hair scene work?
Thanks

My file...

Neither seem to work. Can you send me your most recent example? Thank you.
Here are the two scene files I used...
