Sorry if this has been asked before, but is there not a way to render 360 video with this plugin? I can't figure it out and can't find a tut on how to do it. I do see lots of press releases for Octane VR for free, but don't see where I can download that anywhere either. What am I missing?

Hi aggiechase37,
it's quite easy
just add to your camera an octane camera tag and switch the type in the attribute editor from thinlens to panoramic, then you have all the necessary settings in the proper tab
If you need more help, don't hesitate to ask

Hi,
just tried... rendered, and sent to “Pano2VR" to create the html file...
unfortunatly, the scene seems to be "stretched"...
Probably missing something...

Hi,
you have to set the correct resolution and aspect ratio based on the type of pano
For a classic equirectangular pano, the ratio is 2:1, for stereo version, 4:1 side by side, or 1:1 over under.
For gear vr cube map vr the ratio is 6:1 mono and 12:1 stereo

Cool. So if I do that and hit render, I'll have a still image file that I'll be able to load into a vr app and use with Google cardboard? With the ability to be able to rotate the head around? Thanks.

hi,
yes exactly, but if you have not yet tried, I suggest you to try with a Gear VR and panoramic nodes in cube map format, the difference in quality is amazing

I don't have a Samsung phone. Have Nexus 6p. Would cubemap still be recommended? Also would the stereo output still be side by side? Thanks.

Hi,
sorry I don't know that cell phone, but here is a discussion about it and Homido HMD:

You have to choose the resolution and stereo format based on your HMD
