Hi everybody,
I suppose that's good idea to make a public PREVIEW release. Because someone wish to see how works, even try for their projects. Also that's fine for me to hear some opinions and advices for workflow. But please don't forget that this is based on Octane SDK which is on Alpha period. Otoy team works hard to fix and improve issues. Also i'll be doing same on plugin side.
So please don't forget to post any issues with some samples scenes and explanations. So we can fix it quickly. Thanks for helping us!
PLEASE IMPORTANT NOTICE
New License system:
We'll run it over the new license system and login window anymore. So you'll need to enter OTOY userid and password to able run the plugin and standalone. This is same combination to entering for Account page of Otoy.
This mean that you shouldn't try to use plugin id/pass pairs since this time. Also this system choose one of your licenses if you have many.
CUDA requirements
Due to a CUDA compiler bug we had switch to CUDA 7.5, which means on Windows and Linux you may need to update your NVIDIA graphics driver to a current version which supports at least CUDA 7.5. On Mac OSX you may have to update the CUDA driver for Mac to a current version supporting at least CUDA 7.5.
BUG REPORTS
I'll be happy, if anyone can be specific on their bug reports.
I need to know that your plugin version/Os/HW and last operations before crashes to reproduce and investigate the same problem.
And please attach a SCENE and BUGREPORT.ZIP.

would it be at all possible to use maxons color picker/color selection UI? the multiple sliders for only RGB are super hard to deal with when trying to just select an HSV value.
also, with TFD how do you get smoke to show up? all I can seem to get active is fire.

I did a quick test with TFD. I have to say the integration is like magic. The plugin itself is explosive!

What would be the idle way to stay with 2.24 stable version (on my r17 for example), and work with this version (in R16 lets say)
How it will work with the licence? If there is a need to activate / deactivate it will be a problem since we will need to keep work with the stable version.
