American Bison study. Thanks to latest Look at my Hair code development I was able to export the fur setup from my american bison model in C4D format and render it in Octane. I like the quality that this render engine is able to achieve at blazing speeds (5 minutes per image).

Hello, no I render it from C4D, which is the platform that allows me to import and convert fur splines coming from the LAMH plugin for DAZ Studio (that I co-developed) into C4D native hair and afterwards use it.

What are the odds, that I stumble over a "Look at my Hair" (LAMH) developer on the OctaneRender forum?

Can you share any information about the progress making LAMH splines readable by the OctaneRender for DAZ Studio plugin?
What I know so far:
More than a year ago the former OctaneRender plugin developer for DAZ Studio wrote that he would be interested in working with the LAMH developers together to transform LAMH splines into OctaneRender hair curves that can be read by the OctaneRender plugin for DAZ Studio.

Then there was even a post on the DAZ 3D forum from one of the LAMH co developers confirming that they are interested in working together.

But then there has been no news for a while. And as you may know now there is a new OctaneRender plugin for DAZ Studio developer.
To me it seems LAMH is already splines?

I did manage to use the LAMH export function to transform the splines into .OBJ geometry to render in OctaneRender standalone when I tried this some time ago:
OR standalone - OBJ import.jpg
But it would be a huge benefit for everyone using OctaneRender if they could:

- Purchase a LAMH animal product in the DAZ 3D store
- convert it to OctaneRender hair curves with the OctaneRender for DAZ Studio plugin
- export the scene as .ORBX to any other OctaneRender plugin or the standalone

Hello, what I will do is to code export routines that will allow to convert LAMH splines to C4D native hair (as I did with the bison) and other 3D applications.
This will allow to use the model (and fur) directly (I mean being able to pose it, use morphs etc.) without having to bake a gigantic OBJ file and use it in Octane...
