Paul, I reverse engineered the white texture issue.
I took G3F Adeline, whose Iray mats translate fine into OcDS by default as a single diffuse, and I changed that single 'Diffuse' in OcDS to 'Mixed Material'. It kicked out the maps and gave her the whitening.

I still cannot reproduce this issue. Here are the 2 instances of a map in Diffuse for the Arianna face material...The Base Color map does not go over to OcDS, if it did it would render properly.
Can someone pls save the Face Surface of a material that is NOT converting correctly as a Shader Preset (.duf) and send to me.
Thanks
Paul

Just tested again - same results with the most recent version (2.24.2.3).I cannot reproduce this error - eyelashes are converting to a Greyscale Image for me.
Instructions:
1.) Load any Genesis 3 based figure
2.) Apply the corresponding Iray materials
3.) Check the material tree for the material "Eyelashes"
4.) The Opacity map for the Eyelashes converts as an RGB image
Again: This only happens with Iray materials - 3Delight materials convert correctly.

@TR, this is so strange. I see you are using same OcDS, but you have Win 8.1, I have Win 7.Re: Materials Conversion - Current Issues and Requests

I am using Daz 4.8.0.55, not the 4.9 Beta. What were you using as far as Daz goes?
I can load Vic 7 HD straight up and apply no mats using "Victoria 7 HD.duf"/Actor, and I get this:
Then, if I actually go out of my way to apply the "Victoria 7 All MAT.duf"/Iray (H)Materials on top of the already loaded character, I get this...which is the current Iray mat issue we are coming across:
But it's almost like you are using the previous OcDS where the Grey Image for the Iray lashes, hair, and eye moisture weren't coming over. But for you the other eye components and hair work, like its just exclusively the lashes?

i am not sure, but maybe the problem i have with some hair props depends on the same issues...
model is gen2 female & viking hair
first picture with default daylight enviroment, default material conversion:

this one with redspec shaders

and just with hdri enviorement and 2 blackbody emissions lighters, same as daylight

Here is a demo of, really, both issues. You can overcome most with the Redspec presets, aside from the eyelashes. Again, presets are not the solution - but I wanted to demo TR's issue since I had noticed this as well:Notiusweb wrote:But it's almost like you are using the previous OcDS where the Grey Image for the Iray lashes, hair, and eye moisture weren't coming over. It looks like displacement. Take out displacement from the scalp material, as it will never need it.gaazsi wrote:i am not sure, but maybe the problem i have with some hair props depends on the same issues...

@sixb0nes - In your video, the figure converts into OcDS with the white skin (which we know is a current Iray issue for some materials received into OcDS as a MIxed Material), but the eyelashes are correct (we see at 1:06 that there is an opacity grey image loaded properly...).Postby sixb0nes » Sat Nov 28, 2015 4:02 pmHere is a demo of, really, both issues. Then, It's the Redspec shaders that then introduce an issue. We clearly see the issue appear once the Redspec shader is applied. But it is not there before that. I am not saying the issue is with the Redpec Shader per-say, but rather that the initial conversion of the default mats showed the eyelashes rendered correctly. Paul would not be able to reproduce that unless, like in your video, he applied the Redspec shader.
Makes me wonder if TR is seeing what your video shows.
Well, let's ask him!
@TR is that what you are seeing, (1) an issue once you then apply the RedSpec shaders, or (2) an actual issue with the initial conversion, previous to the shaders being applied?
