Hi Guys,
Can somebody help me with exterior rendering?...I mean, is there any Octane+C4d tutorial wich explains this topic?..for example how to set up camera imager, multypasses and lienar workflow in octane for C4d?
To be more specific, I will post my work, and also work of somebody else wich is for me a goal in tearms of final quality. I'm using Ocante v.2.23.2 wich I realy like, but there is something I miss, for example there is no ISO option in camera imager and I really would like to adjust that, or is there any alternative for ISO?..please let me know if you have any suggestions.
Thank you.

I would suggest checking out inlifethrill's tutorial videos here: https://vimeo.com/inlifethrill

Hi,
I do not use cinema 4D, nor am I an expert in exterior rendering.
I'm learning Octane too and would just like to share a few things I learn on the way and share my feeling about your render. I like the house model and the front brick you use. But here is a few things in my opinion that maybe will help.
1. I would re-adjust the dof. The tree leaf to the left are clear and your house is blur. I think that the "main character is the house" and should be clear and sharp.
2. Maybe its me but the green trees in the background are a bit weird. Are they 3d models rendered in the scene? Have you tried to add a background instead in postpro.
3. In the reference picture, the bicycle is important, the house immediately feels occupied by "real people". Adding a few objects like maybe a car, a ball, flower pots, an outside lamp, curtains an Athena for TV would help.
4. The road is too clean and the front grass too. You have so many trees around and only one leaf on the grass.
5. The inside of the house is as bright as outside. True that you have a lot of windows everywhere but if the house was inhabited the objects in the house would block some light. Check your reference image.
Those are only my observation like I told you I'm no expert.

Hi there =)
* Your Target image has better framing: work on this (by changing camera angle & then ofseting camera plane, so You would have same perspective, but would be able to frame better).
* Your white point is off, as white surface is too yellow - adjust that.
* Also add a bit of vigneting, as now Your result is too even..when target does have a bit.
* You don't need ISO when You can configure exposure - end effect is the same.
Post result & we can give You more C&C.
Good Luck =)

Hi Guys,
Thanks so much for your responses,
first to Ludovic_L ,
I'm totally agree with you, all the little details will make it more realistic. About the DOF, somehow I just cant figure out how it exactly works, I'm use to use focus distance from camera, but this is probably works only for c4D render system.
to glimpse,
Can you please tell me what do you mean by white point is off?...is it hot pixel removal, or white balance?...because I have the hot pixel removal set to "1"
And one important thing, I guess you all know, that both images are after some postprocess in photoshop, so I will post an imge right from octane, to have better reference

* I Believe Tom said that your white is not actually white
and you need to adjust the white balance to get to right color (via camera imager) - Yours is a bit yellowish as he mentioned.
* hot pixel removal is indeed for fireflies issues mostly. if you don't have fireflies - 1 is fine and if you do - start reducing it til you get it right.
* c4d native camera DOF is do works. Check inlifethrill tuts
You on the good path defiantly.
