Playing with a custom bokeh solution. Guess this is coming in V3, but anyways.

Simple 5-edged "hole" in plane - in front of the camera will do the trick.

hehe, knew they make this on cameras, but never though for 3d =DDD


actually mixing glass surface to fake CA, then this trick + new anamorphic effect..
-might be quite a way to go for those who look for that "realism" =)

Thought it might work. Physical as the renderer is. Got an c4d-file if anyone want it.

Yeah, the idea felt so crazy I had to try it. Makes me wonder if this is kind of how it's made in other renderers like Vray etc.

You could take this further actually. By putting tube on c4d-camera you can create a lens hood to prevent backlight. And create vingetting effect.

Could also place dity "uv" lens in front of camera. With dust on to create physical correct bloom/glare effects.
