Hi,
Please see attached screenshot.
I am getting some issues here trying to animate.
1. The character disapears from the viewport. (shot 1)
2. The camera (which is nested) does not move with the figure. Sometimes it's behind the action, sometimes in front. It's not that predicable. Either way in the carrara viewport I keep the camera at the same distance from the figure. This isn't happening during render time. (shot 2)
3. It seems a lot slower at building frames than previous versions. Is there additional things to keep track of? If so can these be switched off?
I've updated to the latest nvidia drivers, and I use Carrara 8.1.
Many thanks
2.16.0064 Issue with Animation and Viewport
I'm sorry but I have tried to reproduce these issues but I cannot with the simple scenes I have tried. I know your scenes are pretty complex and that probably has something to do with it. So, unfortunately, unless you can provide me with something I can reproduce the issues with there is not a lot I can do.
For performance, one thing you can try is to turn off the Animated flag (General tab) on anything that is not actually being animated (all your static props). This should prevent them from being analyzed for changes between frames. However, the Octane kernel has changed and I have noticed that it takes longer to compile a scene than it did in the past. This is completely outside of my control.

Hi there.
I appreciate you spending time on it. Time is of the essence for both of us so I'll try to reproduce it in a simple scene. I really hope somehow I can convey what is happening here because I'd love to use the new Networking option.
Failing that I'll have to stick with an older version. Perhaps if I step backwards in versions until it stops happening we can at least know the version at which it first occurs. (The main threats are the figures appearing/not appearing in the final render and the camera not sticking within the tree (so that it moves with the character)).
The speed loss I can live with.
I'll get back to you. Thanks.
