Hi, did a vidcap of my 1st session with Octane, it looks like it meets expectations !
The model is 200k triangles, and it's really fast !! can't wait for MLT, glass, and of course animation !
however, i have some trouble loading textures. everytime i try the app crashes..
it's an 8k png file. I'm running 7 x64 & GTX260 - 892MB

Hi,

can you get me that texture file that causing issues ?
you could try opening in a image editor and saving it as a jpg.

it's probably some detection of RGB <> RGBA in my code that's borking with PNG formats.

if you don't want to share the texture, just send me the file via pm or email (my contact details are on the 'about us' page)

Thanks again :)

btw,

we're looking for some help with tutorial videos.
if you're willing (it's ok if you're not, no hard feelings),
making some narrated tutorial videos to get others started
after you've gotten a bit accustomed to using octane
would be very very welcome indeed. :)

Actually i won't, it's based on a commercial arroway texture ! Of course i did try to convert to jpeg, but same problem :( it might be computer related, i'm installing xp32 for more tests. Regarding the tutorials, i'd like to explore the nodes before trying anything, also, i don't feel very confident about how my voice sounds.. but who does ? Christopher Lee i guess !

I know what you're talking about, i applied for a gnomon subscription ! impossible to follow.. I'm a blender and modo guy anyway ! But when you're able to transpose to the software you're using, any tutorial for any software is usefull imo.

Nice scene! ... can't wait for an Octane version with that lighting.

btw: It might be a good idea to make that image a simple link, to avoid confusion. ;)
