I was recently invited to make a short animated film for Amnesty International and Octane proved itself invaluable on the job. I had only about 3 weeks production time so it was a lot to do but Octane helped get over the line.

The film celebrates the ratification of an arms trade treaty in the UN which makes it harder for human rights abusers to get weapons. I went with a high tech, Call of Duty type military aesthetic to appeal to a broader audience than would usually watch Amnesty films.

Octane was used throughout the first half and on a couple of the globe shots. The physical renderer in C4D was used on some of the later globe shots and comping was done in After Effects. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Tugpsx - Thanks for the kind words. I'd love to blow your mind with a super technical response, but to make those bullet characters was fairly easy. I use X-Particles a lot and it has some very powerful features for sticking particles to an object based on a texture map. I took some photos and treated them, then created low poly geometry for them in C4D, then used the photo as a texture to attract the bullets.

The only slightly tricky thing was to get them swarming nicely in between photos, which was just a combination of turbulence and flocking modifiers.

If you haven't got X-Particles I would highly recommend it, best plugin for Cinema IMO.
