I have a texture created in DDO that is the wrong way round. The gloss (roughness) is light for the glossier bits. So I want to invert it. Easy, there's a button right there.
This is the texture loaded into the diffuse channel so that we can see what it looks like.
However, when I click on invert, this is what it looks like....
It's like this if I invert in the Texture Node, use a Texture Invert node, or in colour correction node.
If I invert the texture in Lightwave's Image Editor, it inverts the way I would expect (dark bits, become light. Light bits become dark). However, if I then apply that image to the texture node, it looks exactly the same as the first image, even though the little image in the node shows the texture inverted.
Am I missing something?
Problem inverting textures.

No, not hdr image. It seems to be less of a problem with higher contrast images. It's ok Juan as I got dDO fixed so that is now exporting roughness maps. I think I just need to make sure I'm dealing with higher contrast images.

And you could crank Gamma in texture - like above 3.. Sometimes I do this to fine-tune spec/roughness in plug. Not too bad in a pinch.
I've been using dDo and nDo since beta. Though I have not had a chance yet to dig deep. Pretty sweet stuff since 1.8.
