My first testrenders with the beta. This is a model of the Pulse rifle from the Aliens movies. I made this model a few years back.
Never really finished it tough.

This is the final image. 15 minute rendering time with a very old gf 8800gt card. This was scaled down from a 1920x1080 image.

Here is a 6 minute version of the unscaled render for comparison.

I also did a 100 frame spin animation from this. Rendered in 720p with 512 Msample quality. This was supposed to have motion blur in it,
but for some reason it didn't work. Maybe the camera setting were to fast for the mblur to be noticeable or the feature isn't even implemented yet.
I also forgot to turn on smoothing for the surface normals for atleast some parts of the object. I can only notice it in the handle myself. Polycount is about a million triangles.

Cool! - is it UV'd to enable some scratches etc?

At some point I did experiment with textures and had most of the parts mapped, but this model seems to only have UV:s on the front most part. Maybe one day I'll continue this, but for now I'm busy with other stuff.
