Hello Octaners!

I have some problem with the Live geometri update/ Load all frames.
First when I make an animation everything works just fine, I get motion blur and octane loads all frames for the animation..
But, later after some tweaking here and there the Live geometri update stops working for the animated object.

The object is vissible in the renderer but if I turn off general visibility or camera visibility nothing happens.
And, load all frames for that object does`nt work, but all the frames for the camera animation will still load.

This happend yesterday and today for me, what the heck am I doing wrong, or is it octane error?
How can just one object stop loading frames?

Hi. If you save the scene, shutdown and then re-open Modo and then reopen that scene is the problem resolved?

Hi,
Yes I´ve tried that but it´s not helping.

I was using instances with dynamics, if I use dublicates everything seems to work..
Is it not ok to use instances?

If the problem happens when you re-open that file - can you pls send me the file - and specific/detailed instructions on what I need to do to reproduce the problem with that file. My email is paul at physicalc-software dot com.

Hi Robert - thanks for the email - answering here in case anyone else has this issue.

The "Load All Frames Into Octane" option loads mesh item transforms into the Octane timeline. However loading of instance and replicator transforms has not yet been implemented. I will implement the loading of instance transforms in the next release. Replicator transforms are more complex - but will be done after that.

So in summary - use duplicated meshes for your teapot - OR, use instances and export the whole animation to Octane Standalone via the "octane.command exportAlembic". http://render.otoy.com/manuals/Modo/?page_id=998

Edit to the above....instances are treated as replicators by the plugin and stored in an Octane scatter node, so it will take some time to add support for them when "Load All Frames Into Octane" is ticked (ie. won't be in the next release - sorry).
