Atmospherics
Agreed. This is sorely lacking right now. Even a basic fog setting would help so much.

Thank You, Karba!..Karba wrote:I have attached a simple scene
I'm here from the MODO sub-forum, so I can't open the .max scene. But if I understand it, you need two volumes: one around the scene and another around the camera. Are both mesh faces inverted, or just the camera-surrounding mesh?
EDIT: Also, I noticed that even in heavy fog, shadows from the sun are still sharp.

only sphere should have inverted normals & the same material as bigger box.. - basically the sphere acts as a hole without a material..like an empty space in a cheese =)riggles wrote:I'm here from the MODO sub-forum, so I can't open the .max scene. as for shadows, simply make sun size bigger (if I remember good & not mistaking other engines) and shadows will get softer =)
it would be great if you could explain material and object, so people could adapt it into their own programs
still if octane 3.0 will be able to do this would be so cool http://www.e-onsoftware.com/products/ozone/ozone_6.0/
ozone is just unusable because good clouds take 30 min per frame to render
