Messing around with the sweet C4D plugin HOT4D for ocean deformation.

The Ocean material is pretty simple actually.

Its a mix material: One Water material and One diffuse foam material masked by a black and white foam texture.
The water shader is just a specular material with an absorption shader in the Medium channel.

Finally got a chance to look at this (sick of my iPad not showing embedded YouTube and Vimeo clips)

It looks freaking awesome. I have so many questions.

Firstly, how are you displacing? Is it just a procedural that Ocean Plugin gives you? If so, cool plugin.

Regarding the water texture itself. Could you by any chance share the actual set up (I'm not C4D but would love to try to translate it to Lightwave), or is it based on a version of water in LiveDB.

The foam, how are you getting that texture to change? It looks like a procedural, but not an octane one. Are you able to use animated C4D procedurals in your octane nodes?

Sorry for all the questions, but as I say - looks awesome.

I guess the only thing I would add is a dirt node on the surface, driving a setup that also adds the foam around the bouy and the posts.

The Mesh deformation is all done with this plugin from valkaari here: http://www.valkaari.com/?cat=40

if you visit the Vimeo page I share the scene file there: https://vimeo.com/97123467

The foam texture is just an image of foam, its not animated or changing at all actually, just deforming enough to trick the eye.

Thanks for that, Bul, appreciated.

Going to try using xparticles and tfd to add some spray, foam, wetmap around the objects.
