1) What the heck is going on with the exporter... how many braches & variation are there after the 1.19 version?
2) Blender changes built all the time... now I use 56945built and I don't do animation often (last animation was with other build... I get an error traceback blah blah blah (I WAS able to do animations before with the other builds)
I need help exporting animation

I'm still on 2.65 because some people have said newer versions break the exporter and I dont need any of the new feature in Blender, since its mainly Freestyle and Cycles upgrades.
Animation is perfectly fine on this version.

Blender 2.68/Plugin 1.19/Octane 1.2 works for me.
You sure you have it set up right?

Here's some general tips:
If you keep the "older" versions (at least those you know work fine), you have a backup if plugins don't play nice with the latest version.
This plugin (and most other plugins) are developed and maintained by enthusiast that do it whenever they have time over. You can't expect it to work with every single build of Blender (or even Octane..).
And Yoyoz is doing a great job!
I'm currently using 2.68a and the plugin seems to work "fine"(*). I only use it for animation, if I'm doing still renders in Octane I actually prefer to do it "manually" (exporting OBJ and setting it up in Octane), it's less hassle!
Last note: Again, this isn't an official plugin, so you have to take it for what it is. They are working on an official plugin (http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=27350) that will make things easier, but it wont really replace this plugin...
(* It was a bit troublesome, like crashing without reason when I tried to render the animation a few times and then magically it worked again..)
- Try to only use the official/big releases of Blender for projects (RCs can be OK), if you don't need a certain feature that currently is in trunk.
- Don't switch version in the middle of a project (again: unless you really need to..)
- Don't throw away earlier versions of Blender when you switch to a new version.
