OctaneRender™ for LightWave™ build 0.10.2 released
Moderator: juanjgon
I have a question, is the capability to utilize the fixed random function surfacing instances possible in octane, is that a future update. If it is available already how would someone go about doing it. The reason I need this is in order to randomly vary the texture of instanced objects in the node editor. Please let me know. Thanks,

Currently Octane doesn't support random instancing surfaces, but perhaps you can use any of the octane procedurals (who are rendered in world space, so each instance is not the same as the others) to drive a material mix or a texture mix nodes and get random surfacing in the instances.tmclemons wrote:I have a question, is the capability to utilize the fixed random function surfacing instances possible in octane, is that a future update. Juanjo, is there any way ORLW can get a larger max than 30 for Sun Size?
I found myself wanting it even a little more overcast in a couple scenes I did in standalone...
Maybe 40?

Win10Pro || GA-X99-SOC-Champion || i7 5820k w/ H60 || 32GB DDR4 || 3x EVGA RTX 2070 Super Hybrid || EVGA Supernova G2 1300W || Tt Core X9 || LightWave Plug (v4 for old gigs) || Blender E-Cycles
I can test it here now, but if you put more than 30 and sun size is always the same I think that this is a issue of Octane itself, because plugin doesn't have any limit for this value.FrankPooleFloating wrote:Juanjo, is there any way ORLW can get a larger max than 30 for Sun Size?
