The only things I feel separated this from a real life shot is the tones and specular highlights of the skin. The areas of the skin that are better shaded work well but the hand where there are brighter reflections there is this waxy look to it. I think its mostly due to sharp and bright highlights of the reflections on the skin. I also feel the hue is a little colder ("blue") looking then real skin. Maybe try to warm it up.

I only wish at this point that I could model that well.

Thanks for sharing. Best.

Have you posted it on evermotion ? They are mainly archviz oriented but they also have a 3D section.
I'm sure your image will have success and seeing the enthousiasm for your image in serveral forums and sites it would let understand to the CG community how CGTALK is a place to not be ;)

who distinguish vray from octane or mray?

Don't specify what tools you have used.

The art is art, not software or machines.

I agree and this should be the way to go but just because artists are interested by what could be achieved with what they are using, they are curious to know what's your modeling/render solution. I'm a Blender user since 8 years now and believe me, posting Blender works rendered with Yafaray, Indigo or Octane on forums and sites where 95% of the artists are using 3DS Max and VRay doesn't interest much people and doesn't help to promote your work, especially if it's archviz.

Hmm, I didn't know there was a 3ds + Vray communitarianism like that. I understand that it could be difficult to admet that Octane have the same quality than Vray for much less price when we have bought Max and Vray for thousands of euros, but then to refuse the work just because of the software...

Maybe this is just jealousy, or there are sponsored by Autodesk, I don't know but I find this situation incredible.

Yes, I saw that from the OTOY's Facebook feed, I'm very happy! :D
I've also got a 3DTotal Excellence Award (the image will be displayed from February 6), and another top-row on CGArena's forum ;)

I wrote an email to CGTalk Admin, asking why my image wasn't accepted to the gallery, and he/she said they have an internal voting system, and simply the majority of the voters didn't like it. Oh well. ;)

No. He said that maybe the voters are a bit oversaturated about looking at 3D celebrity renderings maybe refused it because of that. I've seen the thread where you asked @CGTalk in WIP forum before it disappeared for some reasons. The way you write here gives a wrong impression.

On a personal opinion you work should definitly be in the gallery of course. No matter if its the 9999th celebrity. The work is great. :)
